At Action Day Schools, we believe learning comes alive when curiosity meets real-world connections. That’s why we were proud to participate once again in Hour of Code, a global movement dedicated to introducing students to the foundations of computer science through engaging, accessible, and fun activities.
Hour of Code is more than just coding, it’s about building problem-solving skills, encouraging logical thinking, and helping students see themselves as creators, not just consumers, of technology. Through hands-on experiences, students learn that innovation starts with asking questions, experimenting with ideas, and learning from mistakes.
This year’s celebration was especially meaningful thanks to the involvement of our parent community. We welcomed parent speakers who shared their careers, professional journeys, and how technology, creativity, and critical thinking play a role in their everyday work. These real-world insights helped students better understand how the concepts they explore in the classroom translate into meaningful careers and opportunities beyond school. We are incredibly grateful to our speaker parents for taking the time to inspire our students and enrich their learning experience.
At Action Day Schools, Hour of Code aligns seamlessly with our curriculum and vision. Innovation and creativity are woven into our classrooms every day, across all programs. Our approach emphasizes hands-on learning, exploration, and critical thinking, empowering students to connect ideas, think independently, and approach challenges with confidence. Whether through technology, collaborative projects, or creative problem-solving, we aim to prepare students for a future that is constantly evolving.
Our vision is to nurture well-rounded learners who are curious, resilient, and prepared to think critically about the world around them. Events like Hour of Code reinforce our commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences that spark imagination, strengthen skills, and inspire students to see what’s possible.
Thank you to our families, educators, and parent speakers for making this year’s Hour of Code a success. Together, we continue to create learning moments that empower our students today and prepare them for tomorrow.
