In July, 1979, the Amber campus opened its doors for elementary school-age children at 3500 Amber Drive. Now, Action Day is a preschool and elementary school that serves 2 year old preschoolers through fourth graders. The school provides an educational setting that is staffed with warm, engaged adults who give the students the message that learning is exciting and important. The teachers establish a learning environment that allows children to experience the maximum amount of success possible. Class sizes are small to enable a great deal of teacher-student interaction.
The Amber location’s Preschool program provides education for kids ages 2 to 4.5 years. Children that move through classes up to Transitional Kindergarten (TK) stay with us at the same location to begin their Elementary School journey.
The Action Day Elementary program includes both academic day classes and extended day, after school care. Physical education, and computer classes are part of the everyday elementary curriculum. A wide variety of enrichment programs complete the outstanding student offerings. Students can enroll in dance, karate, music, art, computer, tennis, swimming, golf and a wide range of sports activities. There are team sports available in soccer, basketball, baseball and street hockey for both girls and boys. Many of the students take part in the annual dance production at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
