Spanish Immersion program

We are thrilled to share that our Spanish Immersion Preschool Program at Action Day Schools was recently featured on both Telemundo and NBC Bay Area! This special coverage gave our community an inside look at the heart, purpose, and joy behind our newest program.

Sharing Our Story

During the interviews, Cathy Jelic, Action Day Schools’ President, spoke about why we launched the Spanish Immersion program, and emphasized the power of connection, engagement, and cultural identity in early education, and how those elements inspire our curriculum.

Claudia Hernandez, Action Day Global Schools Director, shared how the program is structured, why it begins at this developmental stage, and the many benefits of learning a second language at an early age. She also touched on important research that supports bilingual education and its long-term impact on cognitive growth, social-emotional skills, and cultural awareness.

Voices from Our Families

Our parent ambassador, Jorge Duque, joined us to share his family’s experience and why they chose to enroll their child in the program. His perspective highlighted the value families see in giving their children an immersive learning environment from the start.

The Heart of Our Classrooms

Both segments beautifully captured what we experience every day—the laughter, energy, and excitement of our children as they learn, play, and grow in a warm, supportive environment. The cameras followed our students as they explored activities entirely in Spanish, showing how natural and joyful language learning can be when it’s part of daily life.

We’re incredibly proud of our teachers, students, and families for making this moment possible. We’re excited to see our Spanish Immersion program continue to thrive and inspire.
