In our Pre-K classrooms, we do a variety of activities to introduce math. Today we practiced patterns, classifying, and sorting activities.

Patterns are arrangements of things that repeat in a logical way. Those arrangements of colors, shapes, gestures, sounds, images, and numbers are crucial concepts for young kids and contribute heavily to their early math understanding.

Classifying and sorting activities help children develop a range of thinking skills and build the foundations for later problem-solving.
